POLYCARBON BURR

It is a special group of thermoplastics. It is easy to be processed, molded and thermoformed, this type of plastics are plastics that have a wide range of use in the modern manufacturing sector. They are named polycarbonates because they have functional groups linked by carbonate groups (-O-CO-O-) within their long molecular chains. The most common type of polycarbonate plastic is one with polymer chains of carbonate groups linked by Bisphenol A groups. This type of polycarbonate is a very durable material, it is used to make bulletproof glass.

The characteristics of polycarbonates are quite similar to polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA ; acrylic), but polycarbonate is stronger and more expensive. In addition, this polymer has a very transparent and light-permeable structure. It has better light transmission characteristics, optical and mechanical properties than many types of glass, and is often used in eyeglass lenses.
